Gwen Stembridge, Director of Education and Partnerships with Nonprofit VOTE, is here to help you and your teammates find ways to promote voter participation in the November election that fit your organization.

As team members and leadership of nonprofit organizations, you care about your community. Voting in elections is a fundamental aspect of civic life in any community, but many nonprofits are unsure if, or how, they can promote voting in elections and remain in compliance with their 501(c)3 status. Even if they know they can promote voting in elections, it can be hard to fit this goal in with other critical organizational priorities.

In this webinar, Gwen will share how to keep your organization's voter engagement content and calls to action nonpartisan. She also has some specific ideas for how to promote election participation, even when organizational capacity for this work is limited.

Cryptocurrency is often viewed as a niche topic that primarily affects those who choose to buy digital assets. But as crypto becomes increasingly connected to the broader financial system, its impacts extend far beyond crypto investors.

Join Tonantzin Carmona, Fellow at the Brookings Institution, for a conversation about the current state of the crypto marketplace and the policy questions surrounding its growth. The discussion will explore issues such as consumer protection, scams and fraud, financial stability, and the ways crypto is increasingly intersecting with everyday economic life.

This session will provide a broader framework for understanding why crypto matters, even for people who never buy it.

About Tonantzin

Tonantzin Carmona is a fellow at Brookings Metro who focuses on wealth and inequality, financial and emerging technologies, and state and local policy implementation. Carmona’s professional background spans roles in public policy, communications, politics, and philanthropy. She previously served as special assistant to the president for economic policy at the White House National Economic Council, senior advisor at the Department of the Treasury’s Inflation Reduction Act Implementation Office, and championed federal policies in various roles with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).
