Comprehensive Community Development Community of Practice Comprehensive Community Development (CCD) is a holistic, place-centric, strategic approach to strengthening local communities. The CCD Community of Practice provides a space for community builders and others involved with CCD efforts to come together and share their insights, experiences, questions, and ideas. Topics include community engagement, measuring outcomes, developing partnerships, and sustaining change.
Human Services Solutions Affinity Group Are you part of an organization that provides shelter, food, emergency financial assistance, and legal aid or other vital services that help Hoosiers in need? Do you wish there was a forum of professionals that convened to discuss best practices, challenges, and ways programs and processes can be improved to better serve those individuals and families? Then join this affinity group to network with peers around the state to work on tackling these critical issues facing the clients you serve as well as your organization.
Individual Development Accounts (IDA) Affinity Group
Prosperity Indiana has an IDA affinity group which provides a forum to exchange resources, information, and ideas about how to best structure for IDA initiatives and policies that enable low-income families and individuals to save, build wealth, and contribute to the nation’s continued economic grow. The IDA affinity group is comprised of IDA providers from across the state, housing counselors, other community economic development professionals, financial institution representatives, state policy makers, and others who share a commitment to expanding opportunities for low-income families to build financial and human capital. Participation in the IDA affinity group is open to any organization, bank, or other entity in the state with an interest IDAs and asset development.
Land Banking Affinity Group
Prosperity Indiana members working to revitalize neighborhoods are often faced with the challenge of abandoned, blighted properties. This affinity group is focused on discussing strategies for the problem; tools that are already available and innovative ideas. Topics have included property acquisition and site control strategies, tax collection, and code enforcement.
Microenterprise Affinity Group
Many of Prosperity Indiana’s members have begun to venture into the field of microenterprise and/or micro lending to get small businesses off the ground. As a result, Prosperity Indiana convenes an affinity group each quarter which focuses on microenterprise programs, how to finance these programs, and best practices. Participation in the Microenterprise affinity group is open to any organization, bank, or other entity in the state with an interest in microenterprise and/or micro lending.
Management and Leadership Affinity Group
Leading organizations dedicated to making a meaningful community impact leaves limited time to connect with peers, create collaboration opportunities, or explore strategies for innovation. Prosperity Indiana created the Management and Leadership Affinity Group as a forum for Executive Directors, CEOs or senior staff members to learn from each other and crowdsource management and leadership questions. Each convening of this affinity group may focus on different subjects, but all will be focused on supporting your efforts to exercise leadership.
Housing Counseling Affinity Group
Non-profit community organizations, banks, consumer credit counseling agencies, and housing developers committed to helping Hoosiers protect or establish housing assets now have an opportunity to learn from colleagues and share concerns and best practices. Participation in the Housing Counseling Affinity Group is open to any organization in the state with a stake in homeownership education and counseling. This includes groups that currently offer, or would like to offer, homeownership education workshops, home buyer clubs, one-on-one counseling, credit counseling, down payment assistance, or default intervention. It also includes community development corporations, banks, consumer credit counseling organizations, Habitat for Humanity affiliates, and non-profit housing developers, to name a few.
