CreatINg Places Webinar

“CreatINg Places” is an exciting new funding program from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, in partnership with Patronicity. Join Veronica Watson, Patronicity's Director of Indiana Operations, to learn how the program uses an innovative combination of crowdfunding and matching grant funds, known as “crowdgranting.”

Through CreatINg Places, local units of government and not-for-profits can apply to fund projects that activate underused or create new public spaces. When they apply, projects must set a crowdfunding goal for between $5,000 and $50,000; if they meet or exceed that goal in a set time period, they will receive a matching grant from IHCDA for the same amount as their crowdfunding goal. This provides a fantastic new opportunity for community leaders to engage their residents, and for residents to have a voice in the place-based projects that are proposed in their neighborhoods.

This webinar will provide an in-depth overview of CreatINg Places, its program criteria and its application process. Information about Patronicity’s other programs in Michigan and Massachusetts will also be provided, with examples to illustrate how impactful crowdgranting can be in a community. Finally, there will be time at the end of the webinar for Patronicity’s Director of Indiana Operations to answer any questions from webinar attendees.
